I have a Canon DC210 camcorder. It uses Mini DVDs to record and I want to get these files to my LAPTOP. I can plug the camcorder to my TV to watch them using the yellow/white AV cables but how can I get the files to my computer? Is there a converter cord that I can buy somewhere to get the AV cables to plug into the USB connection on my computer. How can I get this done? Mini DVDs are to small to play on my CD/DVD player on computer.

Once I get the files to my computer I have software to edit the videos and cut out the bad parts but How do I get them over to computer?

  1. does it have firewire u can use that

  2. If your laptop has a drawer loading DVD drive, download and install HandBrake

    http://handbrake.fr/

Take the finalized DVD out of the camcorder and put it in the drawer loading DVD drive in your computer.

If your laptop has a slot-loading DVD drive or if the optical drive does only CDs (not DVDs), then you have two options:

    1) get an external drawer loading DVD drive connected to your computer and follow the above directions.

    2) get an "Analog/Digital bridge" like

Connect the camcorder to the A/D bridge with the same AV cables you use to connect to your TV... then connect the A/D Bridge to your computer.

  3. Are you for-real!!

if your computer got dvd drive on it, THEN it more than likely got an indentation on the drive -where you place regular cd/dvd in- that you can sit a smaller sized dvd such as that used by your camcorder. please you weren't serious with this great dilemma, were you??????????
