How do I get money for recycled materials?

Where can I find a recycling center in Birmingham, Alabama that will give me money for glass and aluminum? I have checked many websites and can not find any info on ones that will give some money.

Check with the city government, they are repsonsible for waste management and so should know where all the recycling centres are.

When I was a kid,many years ago-LOL-and my brother and I were saving for a go-cart,there was a recycling center for aluminum cans on Bessemer Rd.  Sorry I dont know more-good luck..and yes,we got the go-cart!!!

Ask the trash company, maybe they have connections with them.

Why not get really radical and recycle other things too? As for aluminum check in your yellow pages under metal recycling.

Now to get really radical try recycling car batteries. The lead inside can be a real profit center. You can go to local junk yards and offer them one or two dollars and then take them to a recycling centers and get three or four dollars per (four in Tx right now). Also you can recycle cardboard, paper, phone books, cloth, etc.

Now you will get the best return the more you have to turn in. I am a trucker and I take loads of aluminum, glass and plastic to plants all the time.
