How do I get more people to click on ads?

I'm thinking of using google adsense, but don't wanna waste my time if nobody's gonna click. So, please lend some suggestions that would help.

Experiment a lot, and use channels to track their effectiveness.

Some basic rules that tend to work well:

- Blend your ads.  Make the border and background match the background color around the ad.

- Make the title text blue.  People still associate blue with links, and are drawn to them.

- Put them in the heart of your content.  Bury them in the sidebars and they'll never get clicked.  Put them front and center where they can be seen by all...
