How do I get my 2 year old to p**p in the toilet?

My son will be 2 next month and has already mastered going pee in his toilet but p**p is a whole different story. He's very private about going number 2 by himself. Usually he'll go into another room and then come and get me by saying eeew p**p and he then shows me where he left the dirty diaper. Can anyone give me some ideas as to how I can encourage him to p**p in the toilet? Thanks.

If you have a little potty seat, you may want to sit it in the bathroom and put a little basket of books for him to look through. My daughter loves getting quarters for going p**p. She loves hearing it drop into her piggy bank and after awhile we let her cash it in for something fun.

Give rewards. Or sing songs, if you notice your son going into the other room to be 'alone', go get him, see if he needs to sit on the potty.  Sometimes boys take a little longer to master #2.  Don't push him, he could end up not wanting to go at all. Good luck!!
