Is it too early to be pushing it cause I don't want him to get burned out but he hasn't had much interest as of yet.

  1. IMO maybe just take him to places like The Little Gym, where they have activities geared for younger children; or sign him up for a class at the YMCA, again geared for toddlers to introduce them to fun sporty activities.

For a three year old, running around with a bunch of buddies his age would be all about playing...so no need to worry about him getting burned out :)

  2. it's too early and will not do him much good if he's not interested

  3. Too young, just do things in the back yard. He will get interested sooner or later, I put my son in T-ball at 5 and I should have waited becasue he was excited at first but then lost interest.

  4. Most leagues don't even have a three year old age group. You can still play fun, physical games, like tag and catch. It'll help develop motor skills, but he's not old enough for organized sports yet. In a year or two he'll be ready for the youngest division of little league, pop warner football, youth soccer, possibly hockey, etc. Maybe you could take him to the local pool for a mommy and me swim class if he can't swim yet.

  5. It is always too early to push a child into anything.  If he shows an interest in the sport you can ENCOURAGE it but pushing isn't going to make him enjoy it.

  6. just give him a tennis bat and ball, the ones you get for kids

  7. 3 is a bit early for sports.  My daughter is just starting Kindergarten this fall, the kids in her daycare are just now getting into playing sports.  Let them be little because it is over so soon.  It will not take long for them to grow up and get involved.

  8. don't push it. show him games at your park so he can the other boys playing maybe he'll like it.
