Question:

How do I get my Blackberry Pearl to stop blinking this annoying red light?

I have a Blackberry Pearl and when I get a text message and I haven't read it yet, there's a spot where a red light blinks until I read the text message.

Five minutes ago, my phone vibrated twice as if I got a text, and started blinking this red light. However, no text!

I tried getting a friend to text me, so maybe looking at that text would stop the light, but that didn't work. Neither did turning my phone off and on.

What do I do?! This red light is really bugging me!

  1. Usually if you open the text message that stops the light from flashing. You can get a text message from many sources and I usually go into 'view folders' and then 'sms inbox' to find mine. If you go through the setup it maybe gives you options for notification of email/text so you can choose light and/or vibrate. Mine only seems to vibrate when I have it enclosed in the case it came with. If none of this helps get on the BlackBerry help website and look throught the trouble shooting section.

  2. The light also blinks when the battery is low. If I remember correctly, the phone vibrates and then the light starts blinking to signal a low battery. Try charging the phone. If it isn't the battery...then you may have to call your service provider.

Hope that helps a bit. Good luck!

  3. Easy

On the main screen of your Blackberry, go to Settings or Options. Scroll to "Screen/Keyboard " and change the "LED Coverage Indicator" to "Off".

    UPDATE:

On the main screen, go to the Profile icon. Scroll down to "advance" and click on it.

Click on to what ever is highlighted. Scroll to "MMS" or "SMS".

Scroll down till you see "Repeat Notification". Change to "None"

Do the same when it is "In the Holster" as well.

    Hopefully this does th trick

    Good luck
