I have been making movies in Windows Movie Maker and I am using a DYNEX DVD-R and RealPlayer. I was wondering, how do I get this formated correctly to work in most DVD players. I can't seem to figure this out.

  1. HT Guru and Howerson are basically both right - but allow me to boil it down:

You need to author the video DVD with software designed to author one!

Otherwise, you're burning a DVD-ROM containing some sort of video file, but not a DVD.

    ----

    Now for more info:

The video file format (in the .vob files) happens to be MPEG2, but the disc also has to have the proper directory structure and metadata to be recognized as a DVD and playable on most DVD players.

So, try the solutions those guys suggest.

Or, I would chime in to suggest Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite 10 ($67 at Sam's Club) which not only authors DVDs but does everything you would ever want to do with all kinds of digital media.
