How do I get my Mom to slow down after retirement, she always tells me that she is exhausted - but won't rest?

I made the comment yesterday, please get some rest this weekend, (because she told me that she was exhausted), she works so hard, but it is like she didn't even hear me - I want her around to see her grand children and I know that she makes her own choices - it was just awkward for me.

  1. Trust me on this one...  If she is not experiencing any medical difficulties from her fatigue, let her do her thing.  She is just venting and complaining but she is actually doing what she loves.  It appears from your statement that she doesn't really need to do what she's doing, so if she is doing it anyway, it must be her passion.

Some people have a lot more to burn than other and need to run their engines a little harder and a little longer.  They see the rest of the world around them moving at a little slower pace and wonder what's different about them that keeps their pace at a higher rpm's.  People ask, "Aren't you exhausted?"  After hearing it enough, high-energy people begin to believe that they are exhausted or should be.  Yet, they continue their frenetic pace.

The body will get the rest it needs.  She'll be there for you and her grands, believe that.  Help her to stay healthy with proper hydration and healthy food intake and then set back and watch Momma go!

    Relax on that tip.
