I just got my home theatre set up, but wasn't home when it was installed. The tech guy set up the reciever with the speakers and subwoofer, but the TV wasn't hooked up yet. He left one cable unhooked, but I can't get it connected to the TV right. I've tried every plug in the back of the TV and nothing! I get the radio to play, but no sound from the TV. How do I get that connected?

  1. you can connect from the back of the tv where it said audio output to an input in the receiver or from the cable or satellite box audio output to the receiver input if the output is digital like an optical/coaxial digital output would be better.

In the fallowing sample pictures you see the part that said digital audio ouput, well one is coaxial the other is optical, the other pictures is from a tv and you would see the optical digital audio output. the other way is the red and white RCA cables thats analog audio it will work too.

  2. T. V. -  audio out using audio cable.

Receiver - audio in to the T.V. jacks on back of receiver then choose T.V. option on the receiver.

Other option is that the t. v. audio might be only coming from the cable box or satellite box and therefore the audio would then need to go from that source to the receiver not from the t.v. at all it's only picture not sound.
