How do I get my band advertised more?

I want to raise my band up, so that people will be searching my musics name all over. I don't know where to start.

posters around the neighborhood, myspace posts, paper ads. there is a million different possibilities!

If you are talking about online advertising, what you need to do is investigate how to utilize ad-word, keyword and meta searches. For instance, if you want your band's website to pop up when someone googles "rock music" or whatever the genre, you need to take a class or get some expert advice on how to make sure that the searches bring up your website.

Do some research online and see if you can find a crash course on how to do it.

myspace, include interesting facts to dazzle fans, include pictures and give them a feel that they know you, and then upload some music or videos. Also, donate to charities larger amounts in your band's name. Trust me, my friends had a fundraiser for a charity by having a concert from their neighborhood that sold tickets and then went on to get encouraged to enter a talent show and won a record deal. How cool is that?

Send some of  your recorded stuff to public radio and college stations (make sure you have a MySpace page).  If you are any good, you will get airtime.

keep playing shows and start a myspace...which can get your band known by people thru out the nation

make a music myspace and facebook. add alot of friends and ask people with a myspace/facebook to support you by asking their friends to add you and by posting bulletins about your band. good luck =)

Get your music out there. Try Myspace Music, or have your Myspace friends put your music on their profile. Also try Purevolume.com

Depends if your band sucks or not really lol,

BUT I would make myspace sites, and facebook groups/events.

Also a good thing to do is text your band name website or whatever to 20202 which is a music video channel that pops up your messages my boyfriend did it with his page and got like a ton of hits at once.
