Question:

How do I get my bougainvillia to produce flowers (bracts)?

I bought a small one for my conservatory last year and it was full of beautiful pink bracts. But over the winter all the leaves fell off so I was left with just jaggy looking twigs in a pot. The leaves have come back and I re-potted the plant into a slightly larger pot. Still leaves there but no sign of any bracts. What am I doing wrong? Will this ever flower again or should I forget about it?

  1. In November cut it back by two thirds. Keep it frost free and on the dry side over winter. When new growth starts to show increase the watering and give it a feed. Leave it in the hottest most sunny spot you have (in the UK a conservatory is best) and let nature do the rest.

  2. Here is a site that should tell you everything you need to know it is the basics to care for your plant, hope it helps.
