How do I get my brother off crystal meth / drugs???

Question

The whole situation is killing my mother and I think that is his objective. I live in New York and the rest of my family lives down south in MS. I understand that I would either have to go down there or work through people to get anything accomplished. I know that my mother enables him to not hit total bottom, but he has just about destroyed her entire life. Help..I'm asking for some kind of help...

  my son is in jail waiting to go for a long prison term..all because of crack cocain and yes as a mother i at first enabled him so he wouldnt get into trouble stealing to get it  then things just came to a stop i stopped it he would not accept me saying i didnt have any more money he would steal and sell my stuff. so i wouldnt let him back in and now ive seen him in jail and i only want to know how can he be so crazy on the outside to do anything for the drug and now he cant do it so he could of quit out here in the world..just dont enable your brother and tell your mom to stop..maybe he wont get in bad trouble but maybe a few months in prison will stop him next time

I dont know the details,  but im guessing that even if your mom let him hit rock bottom and even if you go down there,  its not going to help.  I speak from experience and the only way i was able to kick the habit was to change people, places, and things,  just like they teach in NA.  I had the opportunity to move to another state and i  did.  I didnt know anybody and it was a chance for a new beginning.  If you have the resources,  Id have him come visit in NY.  Bottom line though,  he has to want to change before it'll happen.  Good luck
