Question:

How do I get my cat to quit urinating on things?

I have a female orange tabby who has issues with urinating on things. She has had this issue since I got her. She likes to toilet on bath towels, bathroom rugs, clothes that are lying on the floor, blankets, anything she finds suitable. When we had our Russian Blue, he would leave a huge stink bomb in the litter box and my cat would toilet elsewhere. What can I do to stop this? All possibilities of infections and/or bladder stones have been ruled out with the necessary tests. My cat before this did the exact same thing. Nothing was wrong with her either. We changed the litter to Cat Attract and it works pretty well. Any other suggestions (good ones and not smart alick) would be helpful.

  1. Litter box problems are very frustrating for all.....human and feline.  Here's a link that you might find helpful:

Here's a link to Cat Attract Kitty Litter.  Many have had success with this product:

    Good Luck!

  2. Spray Windex any where you do not want her to go.

  3. if she did it again hit her in the nose and shout noo and put her paws in the litter box and she will under stand and good luck

  4. I think that there are pad that have a scent animal like to pee on. I have never tried it but I hear about it. I think its at pets smart, or a petco

  5. ok i know you said it doesnt have infections...etc. but i had a cat that did the same thing and she would use the bathroom on the soft things you talked about( cats think that when they have urinary infections they blame it on the litter because it is hard). my mom took her to the vet and he told her that she had a bladder infection but when i went to petco and bought her stuff for it, it didnt work at all. we think there was something wrong with her so your cat might not stop doing it at all, you could try going to petco and asking about stuff for your cats urinary track but again it might not work. or if the cat is not fixed it might just be "marking its territory" i hope this helped
