I had 2 cats, one dies, and now he is without his sister. We had gotten a puppy before my other cat passed away, hoping they would get along, they don't. He hates the puppy. He used to urinate on clothes, furniture, etc, but now does it almost daily.

  1. ITA with Cat Lover

  2. Vet, may be a urinary tract infection. My mom's cat had it and it just pissed all over the place. That is their way of telling you that something is wrong, since they can't talk to you.

  3. I think may be one of two:-

First :- Try to put him every 10 or 15 minutes in his litter box to let him know the place, and if he is urinating to anywhere else try to punish him.

Second:- may be he do that because he doesn't like the new puppy.

  4. Keeping the cat box clean is a MUST... it's like going to the bathroom and finding someone didn't flush! Euuuu

Your cat may not like the kind of litter you are using.

Try putting out 2 different kinds of litter and see which one it uses.

If you had animals before and they peed then it is finding the scent and making on the top of it.

If it is a intact male that might be part of the problem ... so have them neutered.

Your cat might have a urninary tract infection or crystals... they keep trying to pee almost everywhere they are.

Make sure to put some lemon juice in it's water to make the urin more acid. this will help

Also you have to clean up where they peed before so they can't find the spot again.  Clean it with alcohol that will kill the scent.  (of the puppy too)

    good luck

  5. Take him to a vet to rule out any medical condition first.

  6. Do you clean the litter box daily? If not, that may be why. If so, try locking him in a room with the litter box, water and food for the day. Check on him every so often, and see if he goes. Maybe if he starts going again in his box, he'll get the hang of it again. Good luck!

  7. Check for Medical Conditions, like a UTI (if cats get them). He is probably depressed and may-be spending some time (extra) with him will make him feel better. Also be careful feline urine has ammonia in it, so if you have any respiratory problems or anyone else in the house, do not clean it up have a healthy person do it.

  8. Yeah, I would suggest the vet too. They may suggest getting him fixed it might help because he's probably trying to be dominant. You might also ask for like calming pills for cats that might help to because he's probably really stressed out because of the puppy.
