How do I get my cat to work?

I just picked up a beautiful maine coon, and put fresh AA batteries in, but i'm not sure how to get it started. is there a button somewhere to push? it came from a breeder, but he didn't even tell me about what kinds of batteries to use, and didn't give me an installation manual, so i don't really trust his judgement. can its feet be plugged directly into the wall sockets or do i need a special attachment?

the cat is gray and white, spayed, with small scratch on the rear leg. otherwise mint condition.

also, the cat did not come with a remote control, and i tried using the control from my dvd player, but there was no effect. will a Sony universal remote work for the maine coons? their package says nothing about linking the remote to living hardware.

please help! i'm really frustrated, and about to just give up and pack her away in a box and file it in the attic with my other failed projects!

Batteries? I thought Main Coons were all still clockwork. Yeah, I know, those digital, battery operated cats are the in-thing, but when you get a classic breed like a Main Coon, you have to understand the workmanship that's going into it. Many, many hours have been put into the fine crafting and balance of the inner spring mechanism of this cat.

Just wind her up and let her go.

No need for remote control, either. These ones come pre-programmed

If your cat doesn't work then it must be dead, maybe you killed it trying to shove fresh AA batteries into it :O and OMG you are so so funny I almost peed my pants  :P

Check the box, it should have come with a charger.

The controls don't work perfectly though.  I think the bite button must be stuck or something, but otherwise it's functioning well.

i know you are kidding. the cat would have killed you before you inserted the second battery.
