I have a male and female cockatiel. Sometimes they get along and eat together and stand by each other but sometimes they fight. The female used to listen to him sing but now seems not interested in him. She is fully tame. He is semi tame. When I walk by the cage she runs to me. I can get him on my finger but to get him out of the cage I have to use a stick. He has bit me alot. Mainly I just want them to get along.

  1. well i had two cockatiels that i used to let loose in my house they really didn't like each other always fighting so I had to get them in the cage at separate times one day somone left the kitchen door open and he flew in he hit himself against the window and fell into a pot full of vegetable oil not to worry he was fine plus the pot was cool anyway i put them together after i dried him it took a while and he was a handfull because he was biting at me the two were great to each other when my dad came by he said that it could have been that he had a skin condition which  explains why a lot of his feathers were falling and why he was always cranky and the oil hydrated his skin and the vet [my dad] gave me some oil made from the same vegetable products as the oil we used for cooking so it is what health status that determins their mood

  2. well finish taming him first.

and i wouldnt put them living together unless you want babies. (but you have to know how to take care of them, how to take care of the pregnant mom, know all the risks like egg binding, etc. and all that)

but my two cockatiels (male and female) never really learned to get along

  3. Show them a cat through the bars. They'll soon huddle close together.
