I have an HP Vista AMD Athlon. I don't have the discs or anything, and I recently messed up my computer by installing too many antivirus and spyware programs.

  1. Turn on the PC and repeatedly press the F11 key when the HP logo appears.

On the recovery screen, click Advanced Options. Here I would do a clean install.

If F11 doesn't do anything go to D:\HP_Recovery\MiniNT\System32\start.exe let it run. THen restart your machine and you should be able to use F11 key

  2. You should have got a system recovery disc with you PC OR LAPTOP

if you diddnt you will have to buy one

  3. You can attempt to use the System restore feature built into windows, and restore to a point near when you got the computer.  You can also purchase new recovery discs from the company that makes your computer.

You can also borrow a friend's copy of Vista basic or Vista Premium, reinstall Vista from scratch, and use the key on the side of your computer to make it a legal copy.  However, this method assumes you will have another access point to the internet to download any necessary drivers.

  4. Restart your computer and before the loading screen comes on, press F8 continuously until another screen comes on. Click on a one that says repair computer > reinstall vista > destruction, and a screen will come on telling you it will take 20 - 40 minutes. This will restore your computer to its factory settings.

  5. just use a system restore

start - all programs - accessories - system tools - system restore

restore it to a time before you installed those programs
