How do I get my desktop back to the way it was before?

You see, when I open up paint or an internet explorer window, usually it resides to the bottom left of the screen. But today, for some reason, it's sitting to the right by the clock/time. It's also merging the windows together and I don't like that. What could be wrong? How do I get it back to before? Please help and thank you.

Could your shift key be stuck? if it's not that, try downloading Avast anti virus. It's free and great.
