I have been having several symptoms that could be cause by a few things. Ive been doing lots of research since this has been going on for a long time now. I will finally have health insurance in a month or 2 and I need a cpl of tests done. I know I need a MRI and a Heart Cath done. My NP at the health clinic agrees with me however she said the hospital and a cardiologist wouldnt see me until i got insurance and even then they might not do the tests that I need. Im making an appointment with a Family Dr. for october and also going to try to get in to see a cardiologist. How do I get them to do the tests I need. Iam 21 years old so drs dont take the symptoms seriously around here since they dont see many young patients with my symptoms. Heart problems run in my family..

  1. if you have a family history of heart disease, and your family doctor can verify with blood tests that there is indeed an issue, he can refer you to a cardiologist who can then order the tests you want.  But be aware, a heart cath is not done without very good reason, it is an invasive and risky procedure.  Cardiologists will only do them if the symptoms, ECG and lab work indicate that it is needed.  You are paying for their expertise, and while you may have done some research, they have spent years gaining their expertise, you have to trust in that.

  2. When you see the doctor tell him your symptoms and you family history and if you are not being a total hypochondriac he will order the tests

tell him the tests will give you peace of mind and you really need them It took me almost a year of bugging my doctor before they did the tests and they came out positive and I was right

  3. I'm an expert on this, I would suggest you take a tour here, there are expert's tips there.http://health-insurance.tips4free.info/h...

  4. You can just ask.  Some will advise against it, but if you insist they will do it just to give you a piece of mind.
