How do I get my father to stop nagging me?

So I was in an abusive relationship recently. I've been in and out of school and working the past few years. I have a serious social anxiety and have been told I am too nice...I tend to get treated like c**p in retail jobs and the like. I am by no means living off of my father and am still a young adult. He nags me about working each and every time I talk to him on the phone. How can I get him to stop? I have applied to work at thirty something jobs in the past month.

  1. sounds like the nagging will stop once you find a job. i am not sure why he would be ragging you though if you are not coming to him for money??

  2. Gee..you're sure making yourself sound like a victim.

  3. Some parents just don't ever stop nagging! Just tell your dad that you are an adult and you deserve to be treated like one.  End the conversations when he starts treating you like an 8 year old.

  4. The younger you get your act together the easier your adult life will be. He probable is just concerned about you and your future.

  5. We parents are terrible at letting go and appreciating that our children grow up. Have you tried talking to your dad calmly about how he is making you feel? I know I would be upset of I upset or hurt my children, but I would be even more hurt if they felt that they could not talk to me about it. Perhaps if you can talk to each other and clear the air, you will learn to appreciate each other better.

    Hope that helps. Good lcuk
