  1. poke it with a stick

  2. OK here's what people got wrong

Mr.love:Never handle your toad unless absolutely necessary chemicals and salts on your skin can harm your toads (on the very rare occasion u may have to handle your toad wash your hands before keep them wet and never hold a toad for more than a few seconds) but otherwise live food is a great idea and the tank set-up idea is great and i agree the first guy is a moron

Ben: keep fire belly toads cool the cooler the better ur toads are active BECAUSE THEY ARE STRESSED u have reduced there life expectency  made them more open to desies and made a very unpleasent enviroment for them

FBT's aren't as active as people think (except round feeding time) most of the time they should just be chilled out. the lack of activity means they are not stressed and are probably not in a bad way

  3. TOTALLY disregard "ultimate"'s answer. I love these toads and own 4 of them. What I suggest is change your toad's habitat and so he has more swimming room. I fill me tank with 2 inches of water and the end of my tank with marble forest like rocks to gradually rise up from the water about 6 inches. Notice I  said gradually, like a hill so the dry surface can b easy access from the water. Also don't b afraid to handle them!!! What are you feeding them? Crickets will definately gte the natural predator instict going and have them more active. Hope everything goes well...

  4. put a heater in the water but only raise the water by a couple of degrees centegree or about 5 farenheit. Also if you are over feeding them slightly then stop that, that is definately not saying you should start underfeeding them because that will make them worse.
