How do I get my guinea pig to exercise?

Question

I have a guinea pig named Vannilla, and she is definitely a PIG. She will eat anything in sight, even clothes (i feed her enough dont worry). Shes kind of fat and she wont exercise. I put her in her ball but she just sits there (im not using the ball anymore cuz i learned it could hurt her back and feet) i put her in her playpen and she just eats the newspaper that i put down. How do i get her to exercise?

or you could let her run loose on the floor.

maybe make an area in the grass! (and chase him, other wise he wont move!)

A suggestion; guinea pigs don't seem to like being picked up & tend to run away. Perhaps you could chase her around with your hand for a short time a couple of times a day. That might help, if you don't run her to exhaustion. Feed her plenty of hay & vegetables (not TOO many!) and plenty of fresh, cool water. A really large C&C cage might encourage her to run around on her own. It worked for my piggies! You can get the plans from cavycages.com. Hope this helps. Good luck!

its just your guineas preference...lazy..i have 5...all 4 are happy...popcorning..and slim and excercise..except one..johnny..he eats everything...and likes yours..EVERYTHING..it gets annoying..and just sits around..hes really fat.. i just think it depends on the guinea..x

She's a guinea pig. She's lazy. There really isn't anything you can do.

Just make sure you are feeding her a healthy, balanced diet and that she has a big area to roam around. If she has that then I wouldn't worry about her :]
