use a curling iron but dont use the clamp. just wrap your hair around the curling iron and hold it there

they used to have other ones called hair noodles or something liek that but i couldnt find a place that sold them.

all you do is wrap your hair around it and leave it wrapped around for a few seconds and then unravel your hair and voila you have perfect subtle waves

Try and plait/braid ur hair when its damp and sleep on it :3 and in the morning take them out and work ur fingers throu them. :3 depending on if ur hair is thick or not the amount of braids/plaits will differ :3

Or try a curling iron :3

Very big curling iron.  Stretch the strand so that it covers all of the iron's barel for the loose effect....
