Anyone you would speak to at a retail chain store doesn't have the authority to buy from you.

Approach independent shops, especially those who have dealt in knits before. Bring them some samples and while you might not talk about price on your first meeting, have some idea of what you want them to pay and the price you think they can get for them.

If you have accessories, bring those as well. With fall coming up they might be more likely to get their feet wet with a big scarf-and-hat order and dabble in the sweaters until they know how they sell.

You could also do more of a consignment deal where you take back whatever doesn't move by the end of the season. That way there's no risk to them.
