How do I get my hands to stop smelling like garlic?

I was cooking yesterday (an AMAZING lasagna, by the way... SUCH a good recipe), and I was putting minced garlic into it by sprinkling it out of my fingers. Now my hands STILL smell like garlic even though I've washed them more than a dozen times since yesterday. How can I get rid of the garlic smell off my hands?

Its an old wives tale, but don't wash your hands with warm water (it embeds the smell) , use cold water and rub lemon on them.

use a scent remover if you have one, it looks like a bar of soap, but it actually is metal, i think. it got rid of the smell of bad onion from my hands, and that smell was so bad....it was burning my eyes!

The best thing to do is put your hands under the tap of cold water but do not rub, just leave your hands under cold water. Or you can rub your hands against the metal steel of your tap while the cold water is running.

I use warm water and salt, use about a 1 tsp of salt on the finger tips and rub together.  I used to have that problem, I use disposable plastic gloves when I chop garlic and peppers, works like a charm.

How timely. I just cleaned and chopped some garlic and onions in a dish I'm starting for lunch. I cut and squeezed some lemon afterwards and I don't smell like the garlic. Hint: I use a little of the juice in the dish to brighten the flavour and I don't add salt.

All you need to do is touch some stainless steel. Just let the steel make contact with all surfaces on your hands, you should be fine. :-)

rub your fingers on a stainless steel spoon. it might sound strange but it works.

next time before you handle garlic rinse your fingers with really cold ater and it should stop it smelling.sometime lime or lemon juice works.
