  1. ok well you need to change your capture settings when capturing regular dv footage and then you need to change it again when capturing hdv footage.  The HDV codec requires some wierd c**p to change and capture properly.  There should be selections when in your log and capture window.

Under the capture settings tab in your Log and Capture window there is a pull down list called Capture/Input:  Use that pull down list to select what codec you need to capture your footage.

Do all that and make sure you change your settings for each type of footage (DV or HDV).  Also, always remember to set your scratch disks right and you'll save tons of headaches.

  2. you should check your project properties, make sure the project window or frame is not set to some weird dimensions. Also, see if you imported your footage with the same settings for all of the different reels. If some of your footage was imported in hd and some in sd, then you may have to re-import. Hope i answered your question! :-)
