  1. I unplugged my keyboard, sprayed with 409 and cleaned it with a brush and cloth. Then let it dry for a few days.

If it were a laptop, I'd turn it off and get a cloth damp with 409 and wipe off and let dry for a few days.

  2. Unplug it from the computer, and wipe it down with a cloth and soapy water.

Let the keyboard dry completely before plugging it back in or pressing any keys.

  3. To Clean a Keyboard of spilled liquids  :

    1. Drain all liquids from the keyboard by holding it upside down and shaking.

    2. Place the keyboard in your sink and rinse with distilled water (not tap water).

    3. Continue to rinse the keyboard until no coffee or coke coloring comes out.

    4. When that water from the keyboard is clear, rinse the keyboard thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. Alcohol will force the water out of they keyboard.

    5. Allow the keyboard to dry for at least 24 hours.  If water still comes out, do not plug it in until dry.

Again, this method should be used as a last resort and may damage the keyboard.  However, in the case of a coke or coffee spill the keyboard is likely ruined anyway so performing this operation.

  4. if its a laptop you cant do much for it

but i'd find out how to pop off the keys and clean around the keys to undo the mess

btw you can probably just pop off the keys with a flat head screwdriver with no harm done

  5. Laptop would be hard. Turn it off, disconnect the battery, and brush rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl Alcohol) on the keys. If the sticky is underneath, you can't do much about it.
