How do I get my mom to let me go?

Question

I met a boy back in April who plays minor league baseball. We spent some time together and he told me that he bought me a plane ticket to go with him to the Dominican Republic (where he is from) for a week in September when his season is over. The only problem is that I am concerned my mom will say that I can't go (I haven't asked her yet). I live in her house and will be 21 in a few weeks. What can I say that will convince her to let me go?

you are 21? why do u need to ask your mom. just tell her u met a boy and are going there to visit him. maybe bring him over to meet her first.

If you are almost 21 you should be able to make your own decision about going.

well im 20 and even if i did still live with my mom this wouldn't be a problem for me to go at all. Does she still take care of you and pay for your stuff? if thats the case than i'd say small chance of going.  Maybe u should start showing her that u are a responsible person and can make these type of decisions on your own. yes u should defianlty let her meet and also spend time with this guy. i mean no mom is going to want her daughter of any age to go off with some stranger. maybe she'll open up a bit to the guy, that would widden ur chance s a bit. good luck
