Question:

How do I get my one year old daughter to leave the bow in her hair?

I am letting her bangs grow out so the hair bow has to be there to keep her bangs out of her eyes. I am not cutting her hair. She pulls the bow out every time. I have told her "no-no" but she still does it. HELP?

  1. Every time she takes it out make her sit in time out or something so eventually she will realize you want it in and no matter what she will have to keep it in or she will have to suffer the consequences. If all else fails, just call Super Nanny. . .

  2. handcuffs or twine.  Plastic synch ties are a good option too, considering she will probably have tiny wrists.  Also don't be afraid to hit.  Kids don't forget pain at such an early age.

  3. I put a hair thing in my daughters hair, and then the bow so she can't pull it out.

  4. put it in, then distract her so she forgets that its there. i have a little girl and her bangs are long too. shes 2 years old and ive never cut her hair. after a bath, try brushing her hair to the side... like a side part and putting the longer hair behind her ears. thats what i do and it works well.

  5. Duct tape her hands behind her back

  6. try clipping it in or paperclip it in. maybe?

  7. It might not be comfortable...I know I wouldnt like it.

  8. Welcome to motherhood.  I agree with the duct tape answer.  Kids have their own personalities...even at this age...if something is uncomfortable and they can reach it, it's coming off.  Try something different to keep her hair out of her face....a soft elastic lace headband?

  9. don't do an actual bow do like a barrette

  10. you say hey, leave the bow in. that should do it

  11. high ponytail

    french braid

  12. Tell her if she takes it out, baby Jesus will cry.

Good luck trying to get her to leave it.  They'll find ways to get it out.  Turn your back for a second and she'll take it out.  I don't think there's a way you can get her to not mess with it.

  13. mine wont leave hers in either i nhav given up

  14. Good luck with that one.  My daughter is now 2 and she is just starting to keep things in her hair.  Dont waste your time or energy.

Besides, there are better things than Bows to keep the bangs out of the way.
