  1. just convince them to watch hockey on tv. hopefully that'll sell them. my dad isn't a hockey fan at all, but i make him watch games with me and he won't admit it, but i know he loves it.

  2. Ask them for tickets to the game (tickets for you and your parents) for your birthday...but I guess since your birthday is before the season starts, your gift can be a promise from them to take you to a game. In my opinion, there is no better way to turn a person into a hockey fan other than to take them to a game. So during the season, find a way to go to a Rangers game at the Garden with your parents, and sit somewhere in the blueseats center ice.

  3. Fake a New Jersey accent and tell them you have a male crush on DiPietro this way you kill 3 birds with 1 stone: You've become an g*y out-of-state Islanders fan. If that doesn't wake them up I don't know what else can.

  4. tell them that the rangers have guys that are older than your parents are (cuz 10 bucks says they do)

and tell them that the dimitri kallinin pickup was just golden (sorry i had to throw that low blow out there being a sabres fan im warning you...he sucks)

  5. Leave copies of the hockey news in the bathroom, and take out all the other reading material.  heh.

Or pull the "I'm leaving for college in a few years, and I'd really love it if we could do something as a family... I really want to share this with you!"

  6. how old are you? seriously. so i can maybe give you some ideas.

Sit down with your dad, tell him how important they are to you, invite him to a game, and him, being a dad, should be stoked to see how happy hockey makes you.

  7. Get outside, mow some lawns, and raise enough money to bring you and your parents to a game.  Not only will it show responsibility, it will show your true love for the game.  I promise, then they will respect your passions.

  8. I'll go to games with you! Haha. My dad was into hockey always, but maybe force them to watch it on TV? That's what I did with my mom. Now she loves them!

**They think a jersey would repel a girl? Haha! I wear jerseys a lot. I would love it if anyone I knew was a Rangers fan. They're all Devils and Islanders fans.

  9. Oh, that's easy. Pretend that you are into the Islanders.

Laying Low - Sorry bud, I couldn't pass that one up.

  10. Start wearing Mets and Jets hats and t-shirts around them and cheer for those teams  to annoy them until they agree to go to a game with you.

Awesome Bill- You stole my answer!!  I honestly was thinking that before I read yours. No worries. Isles are pissing me off lately.

  11. i am a die hard ranger fan too and i don't understand why your parents wouldn't love the rangers. maybe you could make them go to a game with you by telling them that madison square garden has so much history and that they should just go to be part of that history. maybe if they go to a game and see how fun and amazing it is during a hockey game at the garden and seeing how great the atmosphere they would want to go to more games. i think if they watched a game at the garden they would start to love the rangers. my dad is also a die hard ranger fan but my mom wasn't really that into hockey. when my mom came to game with me she realized how great hockey was. she doesn't watch every game with me but she now is a fan of hockey. for a lot of people going to a game changes their opinion of the sport.
