How do I get my parents to let me keep my hair like it is?

I have grown out my hair, (I'm a guy) and all of my friends and such like it, but my grandma, and parents hate it. They say I'm getting it cut, but I'm 13 and believe I should be able to make my own choices. The hair appointment is tomorrow. What do I do?

  1. put your feet on their shoes what would you do

  2. NOTHING GET THE HAIR CUT, BUT FIND A CUTE STYLE YOU CAN AGREE ON OR ASK CAN YOU GROW YOUR HAIR WHEN YOU BECOME A LITTLE OLDER

  3. Get a trim. Come home, say nothing. Watch "The Man in the Iron Mask" where all the men had long hair and looked really good

If your grandma does make you get it chopped, keep the ponytail, and sit on your bed looking at it mournfully for a week. My mom made my dad cut his hair. He ended up moping around and acting so depressed that she never made him cut it again (now he looks like Santa Claus)

  4. id tell them how u feel. cmon its not like ur out doing drugs or anything!! its just ur hair. and if they still dont listen, it will grow back eventually.

  5. Read your question where it says your age. You are still a child so you can make your own decisions but your parent shave the final say. So don't fight with them about it. Cause you can fight with them and cause trouble for yourself and still end up with a hair cut or you can just get your hair cut and everything else will be good.

  6. The only thing I can think of is to refuse to go tomorow to the appointment, Physically refuse to move and if they try to force you lock yourself in your room until you've missed the appointment.

  7. I went through that with my parents, then went through it again with my children. My wife & I made the following rules with our children. They could wear whatever they wanted, as long as it was socially decent (private parts were covered) and weather appropriate (no flip flops in the snow) and safe (no long shoelaces trailing behind the shoes). They could wear their hair however they wanted, whatever color they wanted, etc. BUT we, as parents, had the right to refuse to be seen with them. That meant going out to dinner, going to the movie, to the mall, etc. If we didn't like the way they looked, they couldn't come along. They agreed. The crunch came when they wanted to go shopping for new school clothes, and we said, "Not the way you look." Overall, that worked for everyone.

  8. You should compromise and tell your parents that you will get a little teenie bit cut off but not a lot.

  9. Depending on how long it is (because if it's too long, then it needs a cut- aka to your shoulders)...

But I think that if you really want to keep your hair long talk to your parents about it, just sit 'em down and say, this is how I express myself and I would like you to accept that.

If they still do not agree, then just cut SOME off (a couple inches)

or make an agreement with them..

Most people view young teenagers as children still and they can make a few decisions on their own, but in the end they still depend on their parents.

  10. well i would cut it it is a better thing to have shorter hair because you don't have to use as much shampoo and you cant get food in your hair and its healthier for your roots
