How do I get my place of employment investigated?

I work at a fast food place and the owner I work under violates every health & safety code I can think of. Not only that, she doesn't give any breaks (even lunch) and fires people for no reason (without any prior warnings). The other day our fridge broke and hit 90F during the night and she told us to serve all the food in there anyway even though all the meat was spoiled and soggy. I called the health department but she got the fridge fixed that day and told her employees to lie about it. What do I do? I feel completely helpless.

  1. well One: get concrete prooof two: get some other people with you i.e other witnesses three talk to  a lawyer many of them do free consultation and see what you can do or wat you need to do to have a strong case in front of a judge and most probably theres something you can do about it ................ hang tough


  2. Call the board of health and explain what had happend that day, also call the labor board.  If this is a franchise restaurant call the headquarters of that franchise. Call the local news, they would love a story like this.  After that find another job...Good Luck.

  3. Keep calling the health department.  They'll catch her sooner or later.

  4. Some acquittance of mine did have a similar problem with her boss. She just couldn't win. The boss was always right and her coworkers were scared to come to her side. So she fought dirty. Dropped some death rats around the place and rotten meat in the hidden corner. She  called the Health department immediately.

    The owner got hefty fine and a warning about the work condition.

    What a naughty girl she was, isn't she?
