Question:

How do I get my router to assign a different IP for each comp?

I asked this question before and got one answer... please help

  1. Make sure that DHCP is enabled on the router and that all computers are set up to obtain an IP address and DNS servers automatically


  2. It's not your router that assigns the IP address but you can change your IP address either in system settings (xp) or network settings (vista).

  3. you need to access your modem/router and check the settings.

    open up a browser and type the ip address of your modem.

    the ip add of the modem is the default gateway (you can check the default gateway by clicking the Local Area Connection then the support tab. its should be something like 192.168. x*x or something like that

    when it ask you for the user name and pass, check your manual what is the username, but in most cases the username is admin and the password blank.
