How do I get my son to get a job and move out?

My son is 33 years old and has not worked in a year. I support him-food and a roof over his head. He will not work without his own transportation and won't take a bus to get to a job. He does not have any friends to hang out with. I have done and said all I can say to him to change his life. He does not hold on to a job when he has one. He finds issues with the people he has to work with. He is an overly sensitive person. I would like to receive an answer from any proffessionals who deal with mental health. I cannot afford to pay for mental health for him if he needs it. Please respond.

Change the locks, stop feeding him and stop washing his clothes and then tell him to leave....You are an enabler

It's true, you are enabling him. But it also sounds like he does need some kind of counseling. And if it's depression, or something similar - maybe some kind of medication. I'm assuming he doesn't have health insurance. If not, you might want to check if there are free clinics, or somewhere where he can get some sort of counseling. Even career counseling might help him.

So, I guess, if it were me, I'd set a deadline. You must have a job by this and this date, and you must move out by this and this date. And at the same time, see if you can find him whatever mental healthcare is available which might help him with the transition.

lazy would be a good word lol, trust me i feel for you, set a dead line for him, he needs to socialize more find him community activities, if he stays with you set rules and enforce them, do his own laundry,help clean-cook do yard work and household chores,ect...i know being a caring loving mom is hard but he's not being realistic and useing your love against you,unless you want him living with you til he's 40 something then u need to stand up and take action now.
