I just got a new digital tv and have everything hooked up. I do not have cable or dish. I use rabbit ears. Right now I can record on the vcr but only the analog channels. The channels come in as 9 for analog but 9.1 for digital. The vcr does not set for 9.1. So what do I need to do to get at least a little better taping. Plus some stations come in much better on the digital. let me know.

  1. You need a converter box. http://dtvanswers.com/dtv_what.html

9-1 & other -1/-0 are the digital channels. They can only be picked up with a digital tuner & all VCRs have analog tuners. If you want to go all digital buy yourself a DVD recorder with a digital tuner. They are very easy to use & with a DVD-rw you can record over & over.

  2. Computerbug is right.

But do check if your TV has a composite video out (not a common feature these days), but if it has one and it can actually output video from digital channels, then you can use it to record to your VCR.
