How do I get my video to play?

I downloaded an avi file, but windows media player plays it as a sound clip, not a video, which it is. How do I get the video picture? Help!

Try to download a VLC player and see what happens. You can get VLC player at http://www.videolan.org

Nard recommends VLC Player

I recommend Gomplayer

Both players can do the same and are both free

They both do play all file types, incl .avi

I use Gomplayer, not because it is better or worse, but because I found VLC much more difficult to use.
