  1. Freebird by lynyrd skynyrd, no doubt about it...or Stairway to heaven by led zeppelin, your choice!!!...Most importantly, RELAX. You don't want to sound all crazy and giddy. Be yourself!

  2. Why do you want to do this if you must turn to YA for suggestions on a song? Just to hear your voice on the radio?

Okaaaay. Do what the jock above my answer said. Have a song picked out that the station plays, if you get through be excited, but not crazy. Tell the jock outright that you'd really appreciate it if he'd use your voicer.

If you're that excited about it, have a tape recorder standing by so you can play it for your friends. Seriously, just a cell phone that has audio recording would be good enough for this purpose.

  3. As an on air D.J. what I am looking for when I am taking requests is someone who sounds outgoing as soon as I ask them what they want to hear. If they do, at that point I will try to spark up a conversation with them. Also, make sure you are requesting a song that the station regularly plays. You are more likely not only to get your request but to be put on air as well.

  4. Say something that will make you stand out like something funny or something. Don't make it sound like a prank or anything. Try not to be nervous or like scream unless you won a prize and want to scream.O and try calling at night cuz like nobody's awake then. lol

  5. Ya...what the other Jocks said.  Here's the ugly truth though.  On a classic rock station you're not exactly the demo. Their target listening audience...Mom well sure because of her age so they'll cater to her. But, if you do have an interesting comment or you're fun you can get on too. Don't call and ask for a song like most kids...uh...uh...can...uh I hear....uhhhhh kid rock.- not gonna work. Most kids call up like this so we're basically told don't put kids on the air, what's interesting or entertaining about that request example, nothing. Would you as a listener want to hear 10 requests in a row that sound like that?  But if the kids call and have something really cool to say or they can make us laugh or basically just melt our heart, yes you will get on the radio. Also, request stuff that you know was a hit...have you heard it on the radio? Don't request the tenth track on that one Van Halen CD, wasn't released, they won't play it.
