How do I get out of jury service in Los Angules county?

I was laid off from my job, must be available for job interveiws.

if you where before u got jury duty n your employer fired which they can not .cause u have to serve u can sue them for that but if u laid off before u not your notice u can not get out of it

Do your duty.  The right to trial by jury is a sacred right.  "We the People" are unable to provide this right without a pool of peers to preform the DUTY of juror.

You have voice mail.......don't fret about interviews you can handle that business on your breaks

Bottom line, don't be a wimp, DO YOUR DUTY!

you could try what i did awhile back when I lived in L.A.

I answered the summons,it told me to call in and verify my status/etc. by 5:00 pm,so I called in at 5:10 pm.I went in the day I was supposed to(these were set in groups of A and B,but because I called late they put me in group C,so I only lost one day,and was on a phone call basis for the rest of the week.Of course that was in the late 90's,they mightve figured that one out.

Look at it as a temp job while you are looking for work,  Jury duty was made law for people like you, I read a book called the ugly American some time ago, you should write one and call it the weak American.
