How do I get out of this lie?

One day I was messing around on-game and said I was 30, then the people I was with thought I was serious, so I went along with it. Then the lie escalated, to the point where I said I was in the USMC(big mistake). Now, I'm trying to get in this CoD2 unit, where I need a microphone to be in it. I have one but I don't want to talk in it, because I sound 14, NOT 30. How do I get out of this without looking like an ****?

  1. If they believed a 14-year-old was a 30-year-old Marine, even an American Marine, they are gullible, and the temptation to spin one is very strong. However, no; you don't get out of this lie.

You let the situation play out, and learn; the longer the lie goes on, the worse it gets.

Sear into your memory the pain of the experience, what a complete lying moron you look, and the shamefully embarrassment of how you feel right now. then you decide whether you have enough luck, talent, judgment, and memory to be a really effective successful liar or not.

Painful? Embarrassing? Shameful? Sure. There are people who will never believe anything you say again, but it is not a lost experience if you learn from it.

  2. when you're in a lie or lie.. you cant get out of it.. you just have to be a liar... or be a grown up and tell the truth.. you have to know when to lie too. if you dont know how and when to lie you'll get yourself into serious trouble.. good luck

  3. Just tell them the truth and hope for the best.

And unless you are designing them, video games are a waste of time.

  4. your problem for being a fool

  5. When it comes to lying, there is no way to get out of the lie without looking like an ***.

Be mature, and tell the truth.

  6. why don't u just stop playing?? U were a bit stupid in the first place...

  7. Well I'll be honest, you shouldn't have lied in the first place.  You can withhold truth in a way, but in the end it usually bites you in the butt if you lie.

I would just go in using the mic and forget it.  Don't bring it up anymore, and if they say you sound 14 or something, then say something back to show that you don't like talking about it... plenty of people sound different so how are they to know?  Voice isn't always a good indicator!

  8. i really dont know tell them ue 14 like

  9. Your 14 and you have learned a valuable lesson.....never lie. But, you can't go back and fix it now. Just get the mic and go ahead and talk if someone says you sound young just say yeah well, that's cause I am young. If they ask your age again, tell them the truth. People are more forgiving than you think. Your a kid and they will take that into consideration. But, in the future, always tell the truth.

  10. See where lying gets you!? You should have been honest from the gitgo! I would suggest you tell the people just what you said here. They will either accept it and move on or they will not accept it and never trust you. That would be your own fault!

I am 43, but when I talk on the phone or a radio or whatever, I sound MUCH younger. I had a person ask, "Who is the kid on the radio?" when I was a dispatcher for a cab company. I told her it was me and she said, "You sound like you are maybe 16 if even!"

    I am NOT chatting!
