I mean I have to memorize a piano piece, then play it in front of many people. Nervousness is a thing that I can never get over. I try deep breathing, stretching, etc etc. I just cannot get over my nervousness. I have done piano recitals many times(10+ times.) And every time before a piano recital I get so nervous and I just feel like leaving. On my most recent piano recital I was so nervous I forgot half of the song and I cannot finish it. I felt so bad because I felt like I was letting down my parents. Does anyone have a solution to getting over nervousness?

  1. I think all you need to do is change your perspective. Like glass half empty versus half full ordeal. When your palms get sweaty, your heart starts pumping, and the adrenaline is flowing. Don't try to fight it or suppress it, go with it. Your not nervous over preforming, your excited to preform and show your talents to your audience. You put in the work and the time and this is your night to be rewarded for it. You are excited over this opportunity. Think about how boring it would be if you remained super calm and nothing excited you.

  2. Lots of people who have to do similar stressful things are nervous - demonstrating a talent we have in front of many people throws most people and sometimes lots of experience in what we are doing doesn't seem to help it to get any easier. I struggled for over 20 years doing a lot of public speaking. It never, and I mean never, got any easier.

You could try taking a natural herbal remedy called Valerian. It helps with nervousness/stress extremely well. Good luck. UK
