I didn't make the volleyball team.. I'm so crushed I did worked all summer and missed out on so many things so I could practice and go to camp and condidtioning and everything.. tryouts were this week theres two cuts Im made it through the first one but not the second.. Everything I worked for is gone I tried my hardest but that obviously wasn't good enough... How do I get over not making it? Everyones just telling me to move on.. but I can't just "move on" It's so much harder than that

  1. I know how hard it is to be cut from volleyball, even after all the hard work you put into it. Keep working hard, and tryout next year. Also, tryout for volleyball clubs, those you can get more playing time and you learn ALOT of stuff.

  2. you shouldn't be so hard on yourself.  you should ask some friends if they want to join a city leauge.  that will help you bump up your skills and give you extra practice.  try to remember the things that you had trouble with in the second cut.  then next year you will have more skills and then you will have a better chance of making the team.

  3. maybe you should try out again next time....if its school volleyball, try out next year.if its club volleyball, try out for a different club...dont worry you'll get on a team.

  4. I play volleyball and everybody has a chance but don't ge crushed like that if you believe that you are a great payer than don't worry.I know how that feels i have even cried for it but when i think that i know that i play super well then i don't care and if i tried hard for it good and if i than whatever, but don't feel badim sure next year or if you tryout for another team that is not on the school you could get accepted.BYE!!!GOOD LUCK!!!

  5. omg i so feel you just keep up the desire to play and passion to make the team next year the coach will notice you they will see that you are so dedicated to make it that you wont give up

  6. I was borderline cut from varsity

    so now im on JV

but I asserted myself talked to the coach and

    i get a 2nd chance tomorrow

its hard but you just have to work hard so when u show up for tryouts next year youll make it for sure

are u not able to play at all??

    if so that royally sucks

but you can always do club

  7. i remember how it was when I didn't make Varsity Basketball, which had more to do with politics than skill... I was crushed, but staying idle doesn't help...

See if you can be a reserve or a manager for the team. At least you can still watch the team play and study what the coach expects out of the players so you will be prepared next season...

The coach will see that even though you didn't make the team you showed dedication and that will be taken into context for choosing next season...

Don't let it get you down, I did winter track instead and went to the county finals for the high jump... I won a lot of medals while the basketball team went 1-17... I had the last laugh ; )

The next year the basketball coach begged me to be on the team...

  8. I know failure is hard in life. Especially with things we really want.

I had my share of disappointments in my life.

But through the hard times we are made stronger in other areas. Sometimes we find new talents and abilities in areas we didn't think of.

Because you didn't make the second tryouts doesn't mean your a failure at volleyball or any other area of your life.

    Hard work is never wasted.

Can you imagine what it would be like if you succeeded at everything. No challenges. Or the great feelings of overcoming.

Anyway, Chin up, put on a smile. Give thanks you have opportunities in a great country.
