How do I get past a pre-programmed parental control?

I've had my RCA tv since January of 2004 and am just now in a place where I can hook it up to cable (I've only used it for DVDs since then). I get a lot of channels, but the v-chip seems to be pre-programmed and a lot of what I turn on gets blocked. I have moved a couple of times since I got this TV and no longer have the manual for it, so if there is a preset passcode I don't know it. Does anybody have any idea how I could find out what I'm supposed to do?

the preset is usually 0000

generslly preset codes are either  0000 or 1234   if not that  then you're probably going to have to buy a new tv.. it might have a glitch in it.
