  1. To answer those questions, you are not first giving them a catchy ad to start off with. I made lots of money of ads and i put my ads like this.

    Hey Loser, Over here

    blah blah and etc.

On my Google i had a great CTR(click through rate) try to change and experiment your ads and how you word them as well as make them relevant.

If you need more help my husband has a squidoo website that helps you better with your ads.

  2. Some pointers:

    1. Put the ads where users are likely to click on them. Even if you are not using Google Adsense, Google has created a heat map that shows the best positions for the placement of ads https://www.google.com/adsense/support/b...

    2. Use ad formats that get the best clicks, and the general rule is that the bigger the ad, the better the click through rate. For example, medium or large rectangles as well as wide skyscrapers

    3. Is your site getting visitors who are likely to click on ads? A home business information site (like my site) that offers information on how to start a business are highly likely to click on ads that tell them how they can make money from home. Whereas a forum or news site or gaming site -- where the site is the end destination in itself and users are not looking for anything else -- will attract users not likely to click on ads.
