How do I get projected images onto a stage?

I am creating a one man show destined for theatres of 100 +. I would like to use either video or static images as my backdrop. Should I use a video projector, slides or something else? I want the show to look as pro as possible.

  1. I would definitely go with a computer/video projector.

    Depending on how much money you have, you might consider some type of "rear screen" projection.  That is when the projector is back stage pointing at the screen in front of it.  You can actually do this pretty well with white cloth, but there are better and more expensive options too.

    Rear screen projection will allow you to be in front of the screen without shadowing it which would happen if you had the projector in front of the screen.
