Question:

How do I get proof of my National Insurance Number???

I'm just about to start work as a secretary; they know my national insurance number but I need proof of it. They emailed me a list of all the documents that would be accepable but I don't have any of them as I have never worked before in my life, not even part time or anything. Therefore I don't have letters or whatever from people like the Inland Revenue.

Now I don't have a clue how I can prove my NI. Is there any way I can request proof of my NI.

Comments much appreciated.....

  1. you will need to go to ajob centre or simuler

  2. Your local Jobcentre Plus office or DWP office will give you confirmation of your Ni Number

  3. you can get proof of your national insurance number from your local social security ageny or jobs and benefits office if you ask them they will send you a new card or give yuou the phone number etc of the office to get it.

  4. Try to possess as much information as you can maybe is one option, however it is time consuming, here is the one i have ever had good experience with.http://insurance.free-onlinetip.info/ins...

  5. You should have a national insurance card - if not you can ring up your local office and request a new one. I did this after i lost mine and it came within a week x x x x

  6. Proof of your National Insurance Number can be one of these

    P45 or P60

Letter from the Inland Revenue about tax

DWP order book that includes your NINo.

Bank statement showing payments by direct debit for Class 2 National Insurance contributions or receipt of Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance.

Payslip or salary statement or works pension statement or completed certificate of earnings as long as they show your NINo

Letter that the DWP has sent to you (not handwritten).

NINo card (not handwritten). If you have none of these then either visit your local job centre plus who can sort this out, Tel. 0845 600 0643 or check out the DWP site,
