I have an Emerson flat panel tv with the headphone jack on the side, I can plug in computer speakers to the jack but then sound only comes out of the speakers, I wana know if i can put speakers behind me and still have sounds coming from the onboard speakers my tv has.

  1. Even if the speakers on the TV stayed on, it would not be surround sound.

True surround sound sends diffent signals to front, center, and rear speakers.

Unfortunatly, theres nothing you can do to get the tv speakers to stay on with the ones plugged into the headphone jack.

  2. nope, wont work the power to the tv speakers it cut off when u put in head phones.

  3. It sounds like your trying to obtain a surround sound type experience. Sorry.......to achieve surround sound you need a surround A/V tuner. Only then can you achieve what you're looking to do.  Audio outputs on the TV's are only met to hook up video camares, a camara phones ( depending on phone ) for replay purposes.
