  1. If they are the tiny little sugar ants use these traps.  It is hard to have to watch and not kill them but the traps eventually do work and kill the queen and the nest.

  2. Find the source.  Clean up that area.  Spray the line they were using with ant spray.

Those are probably the little sugar ants so all they are after is food.

I've had the same problem especially with kids.

You might also want to get Ant powder.  Sprinkle a light coating around the entire base of the outside of your house.

  3. Small or large?  Most ants in the kitchen are one of two kinds...pharoa ants small but dark in color, and ghost ants which are small but almost clear looking.  90% of the time they came in from the outside.  Check the out side walls close to your kitchen...do you see them trailing? if so follow the source and get rid of it.  (Granular/Spray/Terro bait)

Cleanliness is always the best solution for interior ants.  Do not leave food out, fruits, cookies, etc.  Seal or containerize all that is out.  Clean behind the appliances at least every two months.  If you have an attic...put one of those can bomb sprays up there about once a quarter.  Check all entry points for old seals and caulking...replace them.  Check the piping under sinks, toilets, behind stove, etc.  Quite often they are not sealed around the pipes.  Ants and other pests travel there.  You can seal those openings around the pipes with caulk or that canned foam that is out.

Treat the outside perimeter of your home every 90 days or when needed. You can get insect spray that hooks to the hose.  Don't be afraid to hit the walls and eves with it while doing at least a 10ft barrier on the ground along the walls.

When using Terro bait (Liquid) in the kitchen...use very little and maybe put it on the tabs that come with it or pieces of a business card.  Put near the source where kids and pets cant reach.  Best to put outside on the window sill to kill them there vice baiting them to come in.  Check to see if the small ants are coming in through one of the electrical plates in the kitchen.  If so, remove the cover and put some granular bait or powder in there. NOT liquid! It does not match well with electricity!.

    Hope this helps.

  4. What size ants and what color?

You can buy little 'ant houses' that they go into and eat the poison and take it back to their nest.

    Good Luck!!

  5. If you get bidtv or price drop tv they sell 6in1 pest repellents.  Believe me they work, no mice no flies no spiders no ants no nothing. I also know that when an ant senses danger they spray, and it smells like vinegar.  So if you spray vinegar where they are, they will think that there is danger and go away.  Hope this helps.

  6. here's a couple of websites you can check out in case one method doesn't work for you:

  7. If you can locate where they are coming from i.e the nest, then pour some boiling water from a kettle over the nest and that will kill them. You could also spray them with boiling water when you see them on  the worktop. Ant powder doesn't really work as they have to tread in the powder and take it back to the nest on their feet and it takes far too long this way. Trust me, I've tried the boiling water technique and it does work. Good luck.

  8. What kind ants are they?

If its black ants then they are there because there nest is recked.

They'll leave when they find a good spot.

You can use cherosine in a sparyer to spary on them. they dont like the smell of it. and they will leave. And it kills them.

  9. Orkin Man

  10. I spray the ants with Windex, then I leave them there. It sounds gross, but the other ants will come along and take the dead ants away. Then they don't seem to come back. I like using Windex, it's not as toxic as bug spray and it dries quickly and still does a great job.

Ants could be looking for water too, or just a place to get out of the heat. Hope this helps. Good luck!

  11. OrthoMax works great thats what I use and I havent had any problems with them since.
