How do I get rid of Internet Explorer?

This is just one of the many problems I'm having with my computer. One day, my desktop suddenly looked like a web page for a not-so-funny lude joke site or something (and my Control Panel wouldn't let me change it either). Then later (after MANY failed attempts at de-bugging my system with WAY too many different anti-virus programs) my entire desktop went black and my start bar even disappeared. The only hint I had was this box that popped up that said "Watson De-Bugger is not responding". So I un-installed that (like the Microsoft site TOLD me to do). Thing is, when I do "Ctrl+Alt+Delete", and run a program that way, everything's still working fine. It's just not showing anything on my desktop. But now there's a new problem...Here's the thing...

It WAS working fine except for the blackness on my desktop, but now everytime I turn my comp on it says "Internet Explorer had to shut down". I only used IE for the first week of my DSL. I've been using Firefox more so IE's gotta be the prob.

  1. umm u cant get "rid" of it

  2. If your desktop is still black and you are recieving that error message when you startup Windows then you're desktop is still running as a webpage. I don't think it has anything to do with IE.

Try changing your desktop to an image which would remove the webpage in the background, and hopefully the error it is creating.
