I purchased the "Bag a Bug" but there are so many that the bags are filling up each day. Is there any other trick? It is getting expensive to purchase new bags every three days.

  1. To get rid of Japanese Beetles, you need to kill the grubs that overwinter in the soil. These grubs should be killed in the spring, the exact time depends on what part of the country you live. I have had success with commercial fertilizers that contain MERIT. MERIT is a long lasting grub insecticide and has a fairly long period in which it is active. Don't forget to treat flower beds.

As others said, the Bag a Bug actually help your neighbors rid their yards of the bug by attracting them to your yard.

  2. you step on em'

  3. First of all don't buy traps because they attract more bugs than the actually catch. Not really sure how to get rid of them

  4. Try Bengal Spray, you can find it at an Ace Hardware store! Good Luck!

  5. learn the japeneese word for leave, get out, and holler it every day till gone.sorry!

  6. The best long term answer involves b Thuregensis and will only affect the beetle grubs you reach with the pathogen. You can try applications of Neem oil, but if you use the pheremone attractant bag cite it away from your plantings. Japanese beetles are a true scourge of the garden. Good Luck.

  7. Farmers buy japanese Beetles to get rid of other pests.  Do u live nearby a farm?  Corn or wheat field?  They are harmless and it's just looks threatening.
