A device driver called VIA/S3G ProIBP showed up under Device Manager. This driver was interferingg with my ability to switch video modes. I don't have a video card and I have no idea how this device got added to my system. I have tried uninstall several times, but it keeps coming back. How do I get rid of it once and for all?

  1. block it

  2. Try disabling it through the Device Manager

  3. That is your video card.  If you say you don't have one, it must be built into your motherboard.  You cannot uninstall it if it is still functioning.  You can try disabling it, but that may shut down all your graphics.  Why do you think this is the cause of your problems?
